Services for Robert Kelso Carter, 83, Moultrie, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10, 2003 at First Methodist Church. The Rev. Ronnie Wills will officiate and interment is in Westview Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Johnny Bass, Freddie Hammack, Kenny Hammack, Ken Hickey, Jimmy Smith, Tommy Rowell and Dale Friedlander. Honorary pallbearers are members of the Lena Tyson Sunday School Class. Mr. Carter died Thursday, May 8 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. He was born in Meigs on Dec. 22, 1919. He was married to Faith Taylor Carter, who preceded him in death, and then married Kathryn S. Carter, who survives. He was retired and a veteran he served in the Army Air Corps. Other survivors include his sons, Frank “Bub” Carter, Dick Carter, Al Carter; two daughters, Merry Hicks and Barbara Hathorn; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. A son, Robert K. Kenneth R. Gailey

Services for Kenneth Raymond Gailey, 62, of Tifton, are at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. Jimmy Odum and the Rev. Dr. W. Wayne Roe will officiate. Interment is in Oakridge Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Folsom, Van Belflower, Johnny Rutland, David Hathorn, Mack Sirmans, Richard Wood, Wayne Rutland and Benny Johnston. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Lynn Kelley’s Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Clements, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bargeron, P.W. Blalock, Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Branch, Donnie Griffin and the Pavo High School Class of 1958Mr. Gailey died died Thursday, May 8, at his residence. Born Sept. 29, 1940, in Thomas County, Mr. Gailey was the son of Thomas Wesley Gailey and Louise Graham Gailey, both deceased. He had lived in Tift County since 1958 and was a retired area food consultant for the State Department of Education. He was a wonderful husband and father and was very active at First Baptist Church. He enjoyed working with livestock. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Wood Gailey of Tifton; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ken and Bonnie Gailey of Pelham, Ala., and Mike and Cathy Gailey of Tifton; four brothers, Joe Gailey of Moultrie, Jimmy Gailey and Ronald Gailey, both of Thomasville, Stanley Gailey of Pavo; two sisters, Pat Carr of Moultrie and Esther Finch of Boston; and two grandchildren, Allison and Kaitlyn Gailey of Pelham, Ala. Graveside services for William Reid Miller, 57, Cairo, are at 3 p.m., Sunday, May 11, 2003 at Greenwood Cemetery with the Rev. Dr. Jimmy Voyles officiating. Mr. Miller died May 9 at his residence. Born Sept. 6, 1945 in Grady County, he was a son of Annie Jo Baker Miller and the late Lewis B. Miller Sr. Survivors include daughters, Tracy M. Thomas and husband, Randy of Harvest, Ala., Tawny M. Ethelyne Vann Stringer of Macon died Sunday, May 4, 2003. Private funeral services will be held at Andersonville National Cemetery. Mrs. Stringer, a native of Thomas County, was the widow of Francis T. Stringer. She was a member of Mulberry Street United Methodist Church for over 50 years and the Friendly Sunday School Class. Survivors include her daughters; Carol A. (Douglas) Glasgow of Warner Robins and Sara F. Taylor of Macon; grandchildren; Scott (Amanda) Brantley of Warner Robins, Vera Taylor of Macon, Dax Taylor of Key West, Fla.; and two great-grandchildren.
