Rant and Rave

I disagree

“I disagree with ‘Against free press.’ I wish the Times-Enterprise could devote a full page of pictures of all these child molesters, etc. to let people know who they are dealing with every day.”

Rave review

“I’d like to rave about Barwick Seafood on Hwy. 202. They have the nicest people working there. They are helpful and I appreciate them.”

CNN off base

“Even though CNN says Arafat was a man of peace, he was not. He was the No. 1 terrorist leader of the world. He said he would never let Israel be a state. France has aided this terrible terrorist. I shed no tears for him, but I do shed tears for the people he has killed.”

Clintons campaigning

“I see the Clintons are already campaigning for her in 2008. They’re using the Biblical values since that is why Kerry lost. I’m already tired of seeing them smile and holding hands pretending to care for each other. We’ve got to put up with this. Anyone who knows her knows she is far more liberal than Kerry.”

Sick of Carter

“I’m sick and tired of Jimmy Carter. He has spent the last 24 hours trying to hide the fact that he was the most inept, worst president this country has ever had — excluding Clinton. Carter recognizes the world’s official first terrorist Arafat as some sort of official statesman. I reject Carter and his arrogant and vindictive spirit. I lived through his four- year debacle as president. It is even more than regretful he has succeeded in fooling a new generation of Americans with the aid of the media. He does not and has never represented the state of Georgia. Arafat has never been anything but a terrorist. Only a man of Clinton’s character would allow a man like Arafat in the Oval Office. The Nobel Committee lost all credibility by giving Carter and Arafat a peace prize.”

Mixed feelings

“I sit here with a sad and glad feeling. I’m a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. I feel pride in having been there. I cannot understand the people against the Vietnam War. I was in the Marine Corps at that time and even though I was stationed at Parris Island, S.C., the whole time, I had many friends killed in Vietnam. I’m proud to be a veteran.”

Picked a winner

“The good, so-called Christian right sure picked a winner this time in supporting Schrenko. They never supported her because she was a good Christian, of course, because a good Christian does not do the things that she allegedly did. They supported her because she was a Republican.”

Control the animals

“Someone on Cindy Drive has a peacock in their yard that makes a terrible loud noise and drives us crazy along with several barking dogs on the street that the owners don’t try to control.”

“Deputies have other duties besides patrolling such as arresting on warrants, serving civil paper and transporting prisoners to and from court not to mention they wrote 150 speeding tickets last month. Thomasville is in Thomas County.”

“Is our news media trying to help the terrorists by alerting them to the Fallujah invasion several days in advance. Who is the real enemy?”

“We, the Thomasville High School Lady Bulldogs, can still win games as a team without our old coach.”

“Gov. Perdue is going to Central and we have been cleaning for the governor. I have never seen our school look so good. Why do we have to wait until the governor comes to clean up? We have a lot of people working their tails off. The principal is not on top of everything.”

“Thank you Sheriff Carlton Powell for looking out for your deputies and other county employees for standing up for the ones that don’t have a voice. Thank you for having a heart. We want to make good money too.”

“Why would anyone put up a long, high fence that cuts off the views from the neighbors’ houses? This hindrance will surely affect the sale of the neighbors’ houses later. Be a good neighbor. Take part of the fence down that blocks the neighbors’ views.”

“I want to complain about the Thomas County Transit Service. I am aware that I am not the first to complain but I too have had problems with them and would like to voice my opinion. I have called the day before to schedule an appointment to be picked up, made the appointment and the next day they came earlier than they said, then they pulled up out in the road and waited about 30 seconds and left. They did not blow the horn to indicate that they were there. Then, next time they failed to show up at all. Their excuse this time was that they had a driver from out of town and she could not find my house due to the detour on our road. Do not say you will come unless you are, when you call they should tell you if there is going to be a problem. Also, they want you waiting outside no matter what the type of weather. I really think that since this listed as Thomas County transit with the county logo on the back of the bus that the county should see that they represent it in a customer friendly manner. The unreliable service has made some people miss or be late to their doctor’s appointments. Others that I have spoken with mentioned safety issues also concerning their knowledge of how to tie down the wheelchairs in the bus good and tight.”

“I am a single black mother who recently started working at a popular local restaurant. It is with great sadness that I must say that 75 to 90 percent of black customers demand more of the waitress’s time and then tip the very least. We say we don’t want to be stereotyped so let’s stop giving people a reason to do so. Waitresses only make $2.13 an hour. If you get great service, please show your appreciation.”

“Men please stop telling women you love them and after they’ve given you their all stood by your through rough times. Help take care of your kids and you walk out on them after promising to be there through good and bad times.”

“It’s unfortunate that the majority of blacks feel that they should vote democratic. If someone asked them why, they wouldn’t be able to give an intelligent answer. Whenever the Democratic Party and the presidential candidate cannot stand for morals and for God boldly, then that party does not need my vote. Yes, I’m black and voted for Bush. If I had to do it over, I would vote for President Bush again. Whether he’s a Christian or not, I’m not the one to judge. All I have to say is at least he has enough sense to say God bless America. If it’s said enough, he’ll believe it.”

“It is nice to see that see that Archbold hospital is giving all their very healthy workers the flu shot while the elderly and those with immune problems have to go without. I guess Archbold cares more for the health of their workers than the lives of the local residents.”

“Thank God for our President! I am thankful to Almighty God for putting President George W. Bush back in office for four more years! I was deployed to Iraq under this president and I am honored to have him as my commander in chief. Where are all those haters that said that Bush stole the election in 2000? I’m sorry, but I don’t hear any rhetoric in 2004! Lets continue to unite behind our president and pray for our country. Happy Veterans Day to my fellow Veterans! May God bless you and bay god bless America!”

Awesome

“The one-act play at Thomasville High School was awesome. I hope they win state.”
