Jack B. McCorkle
Services for Jack B. McCorkle, 62, of Cairo, are at 3 p.m. Monday, March 18, 2002, at Cairo Church of God, with the Revs. Gary Walker, Chris Dority and DeWayne Atkinson officiating. Inerment is at Greenwood Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Larry Brinkley, Andy Joiner, Edward Simpson, Eddy Simpson, Alan Simpson and Junior Barrett. Mr. McCorkle died Friday, March 15, 2002, at Grady General Hospital. Born Nov. 6, 1939 in Whigham, he was the son of the late R.V. and Etta Godwin McCorkle. He was a lifetime resident of Grady County and a retired truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Glynda W. McCorkle of Cairo; a son, Jack Wesley McCorkle of Cairo; brothers Earl McCorkle, Claude McCorkle, Pat McCorkle and Larry McCorkle, all of Cairo, and Charles McCorkle of St. Johns, Ariz. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at Clark Funeral Home, 334 S. Broad St., Cairo. — Clark Funeral Home
Kingman P. (Kip) Herin, Jr.
Services for Kingman P. (Kip) Herin, Jr., will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2002, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 1290 College St., Macon, with the Revs. Edwin Smith, Elick Bullington and Bill Black and Dr. Laudis H. (Rick) Lanford officiating. Interment is at Riverside Cemetery, Main Gate. Mr. Herin died Friday, March 15, 2002, at the Medical Center of Central Georgia. A lifelong resident of Macon, he was the son of Dot Herin Sutton and Clyde Sutton. both of Macon and the late Kingman P. Herin, Sr. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and attended North Georgia Military College in Dahlonega. He retired from BellSouth and was head PGA Golf Professional and General Manager at Riverside Golf and Country Club. He was a member of BellSouth Pioneers Life Member Club and the Professional Golf Association of America. He also was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church where he served as Chairman of Stewardship and was past president of the Administrative Board. He was an active member of the Methodist Men’s Club and a past member of the Macon Exchange Club. He is survived by his wife, Susan Hall Herin of Macon; son and daughter-in-law, Kingman P. (Tres) Herin, III, and Rhonda Pruitt Herin, both of Macon; sister and brother-in-law, Miriam Herin Harper and John (Buddy) Harper, both of Bonaire; sister and brother-in-law, Linda Sutton Fletcher and Alan Fletcher, both of Baton Rouge, La.; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Hall, Sr., both of Ochlocknee; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Hall, Jr., both of Meigs; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Mr. and Mrs. Larry A. Hall, both of Ochlocknee; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Mr. and Mrs. John Snyder, both of Blountstown, Fl.; granddaughter, Mary Claire Herin of Macon; and several nieces and nephews.
