Maxcine Anderson
Services for Maxcine Anderson, 39, of Columbus and formerly of Thomasville, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001 at St. George Chapel CME Church, U.S. Hwy. 319 North, Thomasville. The Rev. Joseph Davis, pastor officiating and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are members of Thomasville High School Class of 1980. Honorary pallbearers are stewards of St. George Chapel CME Church. Miss Anderson died Aug. 16 at Columbus Regional Medical Center. Born March 20, 1962 in Thomas County, she was a daughter of the late Frederick D. Anderson Sr. and Dora Mae Graham Anderson Jones. She had lived in Thomasville for 18 years and moved to Columbus where she had lived for 21 years. She was a shipping and receiving dock associate at Kodak Polychrome Graphics, member of St. George Chapel CME Church and was a member of the Thomasville High School Class of 1980. Survivors include grandmother, Claudie M. Graham of Thomasville; stepfather, Casey Jones of Moultrie; brothers, Alvin Anderson of Hartford, Conn., Cleo Anderson of Thomasville, Frederick Anderson Jr. of Thomasville; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives and loving friends. The funeral processional will assemble at 10 a.m. Saturday at 606 Hardaway St. The body will be on view at the church Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral services. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
Ira Lee Clark Jr.
Services for Ira Lee Clark Jr., 42, Valdosta, are at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001 at First Missionary Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert L. Spencer of Sweetfield M.B. Church and Bethel M.B. Church of Quitman will officiate and interment is in Sunset Cemetery in Meigs. Active pallbearers are Edwin Paris, Leonard Hill, Odis James Hill, Bernard Hill, Bernard Hopkins and Willie Hopkins. Mr. Clark died Aug. 22 at South Georgia Medical. Born Nov. 23, 1958 in Ochlocknee, he was a son of Ira Lee Clark and Annie P. Clark. He was married to Jeanette in Valdosta and attended Evans High School in Orlando, Fla. Survivors include father, Ira Lee Clark Sr. of Valdosta; mother, Annie P. Clark of Valdosta; daughter, Angel Q. Clark of Cairo; son, Sgt. Heldon K. McIntyre of Virginia; sisters, Delores Brown of Cairo, Vonda Kay Adams of Thomasville; brothers, Willie G. Clark, Jake Clark both of Valdosta; sisters, Jelisa Clark of Valdosta, Hanna Clark of Atlanta; a grandmother, Mamie Lee Clark of Thomasville; 10 aunts, Marie Barley, Katie Glass (Joe) of Valdosta; Delphia Hill, Willie Mae Hayes, L.H. Jackson of Thomasville, Johnnie Mae Davis of Washington, D.C., Mary Ann Barker (Danny), Julie Myrick, Shirley Cole of Thomasville and Betty Sanders (Willie Lee) of Meigs; five uncles, the Rev. William Hopkins (Mildred) of Baltimore, Maryland, Alvin Hopkins of Thomasville, Lonnie Clark (Rosa), Curtis Clark (Millidean) of Orlanda, Fla., Rodney Clark of Meigs; and a host of other relatives and friends. Ellen W. Drew
Services for Ellen W. Drew, 71, Thomasville, are at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 25, 2001 at St. James AME Church, 315 Maple St., Adel. Elder J.L. Raben presiding elder of the Albany-Valdosta District of the AME Churches will officiate and interment is in Peaceful Rest Cemetery. Active pallbearers are friends of the family. Mrs. Drew died Aug. 22 at Memorial Hospital in Bainbridge. Born April 30, 1930 in Thomas County, she was a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnnie Williams. She was married to the Rev. Jasper Drew on June 27, 1948. She attended New Union Elementary and School 1948, a member of St. James AME Church in Adel, served on the stewardess and decoration committee of the church and a member of Minister Wives Club. Mrs. Drew was a homemaker and lived most of her life in Thomas County. Survivors include her husband, the Rev. Jasper Drew Sr. of Thomasville; sons, John A. Drew (Lorine) of Atlanta, Jasper Drew Jr.
(Ruby) of Montezuma, Jerry Drew (Ella) of Thomasville, James Drew (Beverly) of Albany, Joseph Drew (Tammy) of Thomasville; brother, Edgar Williams (Cora) of Boston; sister, Johnnie P. Williams (Fred) of Jacksonville, Fla.; brothers-in-law, Leroy Drew (Ona Bell) of Boston, Baddie Drew (Carol) of Jacksonville, Fla., Willie Drew (Elizabeth) of Coolidge; sister-in-law, Lillie Banks of Thomasville; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
