R. W. Jones

Services for R. W. Jones, 78, Cairo, are at 4 p.m., Thursdasy, Aug. 16, 2001 at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo. The Rev. Carl Harrell and Michael Best will officiate and interment is in Godwin Cemetery in Cairo. Active pallbearers are Larry Sanders, Ronnie Widener, Larry Brinkley, Terry Turner, Norman Pyles, Dan Lewis, Gene Wade and Billy Poitevint. Honorary pallbearers are Paul Voyles, Tommy Voyles, Jeff Voyles, Jimmy Voyles, C.L. Poole, Wesley Ponder, Hope Sunday School Class, the board of deacons of Eastside Baptist Church. Mr. Jones died Monday, Aug. 13 at his residence. Born Oct. 5, 1922 in Cairo, he was a son of the late Timothy E. and Dollie Walden Jones. He was married to Doris Hudson who preceded him in death on Oct. 22, 1988. A lifetime resident of Cairo, he was a retired railroad clerk from Seaboard Coastline, member of Eastside Baptist Church where he served as a Sunday School teacher, Deacon Emeritus and a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Randall and Helen Jones of Cairo, Ralph and Sharon Jones of Bainbridge, Tim and Karen Jones of Cairo, Todd and Danielle Jones of Cairo; sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and Jack Williams of Ft. Myers, Fla.; grandchildren, Sunda Kamiya of Sarasota, Fla., Shannon Deshazer of Colorado Springs, Colo., Ralph Edward Jones of Bainbridge, Brantley Jones of Cairo and Caroline Jones of Cairo. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Eastside Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O. Box 749, Cairo, Ga. 31728. The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. — Clark Funeral Home



Charles Warren Singletary

Services for Charles Warren Singletary, 54, Camilla, are at 4 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2001 at Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home. The Rev. Ron Shiver and the Rev. Andy Hall will officiate and interment is in Oakview Cemetery with military honors. Active pallbearers are Ashley Singletary, Tanner Singletary, Chad Singletary, Luke Singletary, Ernest Fluorney and Ken Forrester. Honorary pallbearers are Pat McCaskill, Becky Pinson, Pam Jones, Ruth Renick, Carolyn Greene and LeSonia Wingate. Mr. Singletary died Monday, August 13 at Mitchell County Hospital in Camilla. Born Feb. 24, 1947 in Thomas County, Ga., he served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1965 to 1969, serving three tours of duty in Vietnam. He was an avid outdoorsman. He was the son of the late Warren Singletary. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Singletary of Camilla; a daughter, Haley Singletary of Camilla; his mother, Patricia Singletary of Leesburg; two brothers, Gary Singletary of Thomasville and Patrick Singletary of Leesburg. — Parker-Bramlett Funeral Home
