John R. Duvall

Services for John R. Duvall, Thomasville, are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2003 at Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home Chapel, 10451 U.S. Hwy. 84 East in Thomasville. Dr. Warren E. Becker and the Rev. James Armstrong will officiate. Interment is in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Rev. Duvall died Feb. 16 at Hospitality Care Center. He was born Aug. 20, 1921 to Phillip and Elizabeth Duvall who preceded him in death. He served faithfully as an Evangelical United Brethren and Baptist pastor for more than 45 years in Washington State and primarily in California. He and his wife Shirley moved to Thomasville last year. He is survived by his Shirley Carnell Duvall of Thomasville; a sister, Harriett McAnlis of Laguna Woods, Calif.; a son, John Bruce Duvall and daughter-in-law, Jeanine Duvall of Weiser, Idaho; a son, Mark Vernon Duvall and daughter-in-law, Sue Duvall of Las Vegas, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Jean Carnell Becker and son-in-law, Dr. Warren E. Becker of Thomasville; a stepson, John Paul Carnell and daughter-in-law, Carol Carnell of Santa Maria, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Jonna Duvall, John Robert Duvall, Paul Mark Duvall, Tim Becker, Janice Becker, Sarah Carnell Kerley and David Carnell; and two great-grandchildren, Joshua Kerley and Caleb Kerley. Patrick Johnson, 34, Ochlocknee, died Friday at Archbold Medical Center. Local survivors include his mother, Mary Ann Brinson; two sons, Patrick Johnson Jr., Christopher Johnson; two daughters, Shaqysha Johnson, Daneesha Johnson; a brother, Willie Johnson Jr.; four sisters, Teresa Bentley, Latoya Johnson, Belinda G.
