Malvin Collins

Funeral services for Malvin Collins, 71, of Cairo, will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 7, 2005, at Cairo Church of God in Cairo, Ga. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Cairo. Collins died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, in Cairo. Born June 7, 1934, in Whigham, Ga., Mr. Collins was the son of the late Malvin Sr. and Gertrude Jones Collins. He was a lifetime Grady County resident and was the funeral director of Clark Funeral Home since 1969. He was a member of Gordon Heights Baptist Church in Cairo and served military service in the Korean Conflict. He is survived by his wife, Maggie Butler Collins, son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Linda Gayle Collins, of Cairo; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Tim Watson, Tammy Armitage and Connie and Jerome Carter, all of Cairo, Ga.; brothers, William M. Collins, of Whigham, Wayne Collins, of Whigham, Kenneth Collins, of Mexico Beach, Fla., and Carlton Collins, of Whigham; sisters, Frankie C. Quamme, of Peachtree City, Ga., Jenny C. Ponder, of Cairo, Suzy C. Davis, of Whigham, and Nancy C. Clark, of Cairo; grandchildren, Terrance Collins, Carl Collins, Austin Watson, Maison Watson, A.J. Armitage, Chance Pearce, all of Cairo, Ga.; and Amanda Harker and David Harker, both of Sturgis, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Bud Harker and Samantha Harker, both of Sturgis, Mich. Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 6, 2005, at Clark Funeral Home from 6 to 9 p.m. — Clark Funeral Home



Leon Motley Jr., 75, of Quitman, died Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2005, at John D. Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville. He was the owner of Washington Funeral Home in Quitman. — Hadley’s Funeral Home
