Beverly F. Bernier
Services for Beverly F. Bernier, 68, Pelham, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. The Rev. Keith Goodlett will officiate and interment is in Pinecrest Memory Gardens. Mrs. Bernier died Tuesday, March 1 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta. Born March 22, 1936 in DeKalb County, Ga., she was a homemaker and co-owner of Pelham Insurance Agency Inc. She was a member of Hand Memorial United Methodist Church. Survivors include her husband, Walton C. Bernier of Pelham; three sons, Michael Walton Bernier of Pelham, Spencer Blake Bernier of Dacula, Jon Jeffrey Bernier of Alpharetta; a sister, Joann Parks of Stone Mountain; a brother, Bill Fagan of Evans; grandchildren, Sarah Bernier, Mitch Bernier, Nicholas Bernier and Natalie Bernier. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southwest Georgia, 818 Gordon Ave., Thomasville, Ga. 31792 or American Cancer Society, c/o Frieda Warren, 5441 Hwy. 262, Pelham, Ga. 31779. Willie R. Jones
Services for Willie R. Jones, McCrayville, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2005 at St. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4556 Old 179 South, Calvary. The Rev. C.J. Henry will officiate and interment is in Crestview Cemetery, U.S. Hwy. 84 East, Cairo. Mr. Jones died Friday, Feb. 25. Born April 6, 1941 in Havana, Fla., he was the son of the late Henry Jones and Irene Hinson Jones. He attended the Grady County School System and was a member of the Saint Calvary M.B. Church. He served in the U.S. Army for two years. Survivors include five sons, Dewit Harrison, Curtis Harrison (Barbara), Willie Harrison (Tamilci), Timothy Harrison (Mary) and Michael Harrison; two daughters, Doris Harrison, Dion Campbell; two sisters; one brother; 20 grandchildren; two great-grandchilden; one aunt; one uncle; nieces; nephews; cousins and other sorrowing friends. Marguerite Stagner West
Services for Marguerite Stagner West, 98, Cairo, are at 3 p.m., March 4, 2005 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Cairo. Interment is in Greenwood Cemetery. Mrs. West died March 1 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. She was a bookkeeper and then a homemaker. Mrs. West graduated from Saint Leo Catholic School in San Antonio, Fla. She was a former member of the Plant City Lady Lions Club and former member and president of the Grady County Cow Bells. She was an active member of Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Susan DeBlase of South Carolina; a son, Harrell (Buddy) West of Cairo; and a sister-in-law, Susie Stagner of South Connellsville, Pa.; grandchildren, Brian West, Daniel West of Monks Corner, S.C., Regina West of Columbia, S.C., Frank, Billy, Tommy DeBlase of Rochester, N.Y., Bridget Ortega of Rochester, N.Y.; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Williams and Ida Hoey Stagner; husband, Harrell B. West; and sons, William Robert and Joseph Patrick West.
