Services for James Murry Fulford, 77, of Meigs, Ga., are at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 12, 2001 at Meigs United Methodist Church with Rev. Richard Wilson officiating. Interment is at Meigs. Active pallbearers are Buddy Shiver, Billy Hickey, Dorwood Hickey, Harold Cook, Earl Dollar and Lavon Gasset. Mr. Fulford died on Aug. 10, 2001 at Archbold Memorial Hospital. Born Sept. 3 , 1923 in Meigs, Ga., he was the son of Noah Guyton Fulford and Idella Bown, who preceded him in death. Mr. Fulford was also preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Martin Fulford. He was a retired construction superintendent and a member of Meigs United Methodist Church. Suvivors include daughters, Jeanne Key of Atlanta, Ga., and Phoebe Fulford of Meigs, Ga. He was preceded in death by brother Edward Fulford; and sisters, Lillian Brinson, Delmar Folmar and Fletoria Srength. — Braswell Funeral Home.
Graveside services for Elizabeth Jones, 85, Thomasville, are at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2001 at Peaceful Rest Cemetery with Rev. James Green Jr. officiating. Mrs. Jones died on Aug. 9, 2001 at Hospitality Care. Born in Monticello, Fla., she was the daughter of the late Jake and Daisy Slaton. Mrs. Jones was also preceded in death by husband, Frank Jones. She was a house wife, a 70 year resident of Thomasville and a member of St. Luke CME Church. Survivors include son, Johnny Wright and daughter, Lillie Mae Crumidy, both of Thomasville; son and daughter-in-law Charles Edward Jones and Angela Notice Jones; grandson and grand daughter-in-law Alphonso and Kate Harper; grandaughters, Jennifer Mitchell and Jasmine Jones; great granddaughter Cheyenne Harper; great grandson Ty Harper, all of Fayetteville, N.C.; cousin Fred Crumidy of Thomasville and a host of other relatives and friends. Ms. Louise Mims Barwick, 95, of GeriCare Assisted Living in Mexico Beach, Fla., died Friday, Aug. 10, 2001 at Gulf Pines Medical Center in Port St. Joe. We invite you to join us in the remembrance and celebration of our mother’s life. She helped many people throughout her life in many ways. She healed limb, mind and soul. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001 at Barnett’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery with Julian Pipkin officiating. Born October 19, 1905 on Winstead Plantation in Thomasville, she was the daughter of the late Charles Edgar Mims and Caroline Leona Vann Mims. She was married to the late B.J. Barwick, Sr. Ms. Mims was a physical therapist, having graduated from Peabody in Nashville, Tenn. She worked at Warm Springs, Ga., treating President Roosevelt at the little Whitehouse in Warm Springs and spent time with him and his family in Washington, DC during his presidency. She also worked in Baltimore, Maryland at Johns Hopkins Institute. She also served in the Army, having worked for the VA Domicillary in Thomasville. She spent her last year with the VA in Dublin, Ga. Ms. Barwick then came to Archbold Memorial Hospital as head of the Physical Therapy Department before retiring with her husband to Mexico Beach, Survivors include son, B.J. Barwick, Jr. of Mexico Beach,; daughter and son-in-law, Mimsie Barwick Caven (Bill) of Atlanta; granddaughters and husbands, Kimberly Kicklighter (Mickey) of Springfield, Ga., and Debbie Bennett (Paul) of Atlanta; Grandson Shaun Caven of Lebanon, Texas; great granddaughters Kelsey Kicklighter, Addie Kicklighter, Elizabeth Kicklighter, and Savannah Bennett; and a number of nieces and nephews. in lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1599 Clifton Road, North East, Atlanta, GA 30329. — Whiddon-Shiver Funeral Home.
