Elvie Rehberg Maxwell
Services for Elvie Rehberg Maxwell, 86, of Calvary are at 2 p.m., Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at Calvary United Methodist Church in Calvary. The Rev. John Vanstone and the Rev. Kenneth L. West will officiate and interment is in Piedmont Cemetery in Calvary. Active pallbearers are Bobby Williams, Ricky Thigpen, Jimmy Johns, Travis Bryant, Terry Lewis and Richard Hernandez. Mrs. Maxwell died Monday, April 12 at Camellia Gardens in Thomasville. Born Sept. 23, 1917 in Grady County, Ga., she was a daughter of the late Alvie and Effie Gainey Rehberg. She was married to Kyle Maxwell who preceded her in death on Jan. 30, 1965. She was a lifetime resident of Grady County, a seamstress and a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. Survivors include sons, James Robert (Bob) Maxwell of Calvary, William P. (Bill) Maxwell of Smyrna, Hanson Walter (Buddy) Maxwell of Tallahassee, Fla.; daughter, Anne M. Gregory of Calvary; a stepson, Kyle Maxwell Jr. of Crestview, Fla.; sisters, Bernice Johnson of Calvary, Delia Hiers of Leesburg, Betty Jean Thigpen of Putney; grandchildren, Teresa Rice of Lehigh Acres, Fla., Mark Maxwell of Marshall, Texas, Kim Maxwell of Tallahassee, Fla., Jeanna Bryant of Cairo, Robert Maxwell of Calvary; great-grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan and Mabry Rice of Leigh Acres and William Bryant of Cairo. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and a stepson, David (Jack) Maxwell. The family has requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 59, Calvary, Ga. 39829 or Camellia Gardens of Life Care, 804 S. Broad St., Thomasville, Ga. 31792.
