Services for John William Brock, 77, Cairo, are at 10 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at Word of Life Christian Center in Cairo. The Rev. Stephen Smith will officiate and interment is in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo. Mr. Brock died Friday, Feb. 7 at Grady General Hospital in Cairo. Born Dec. 31, 1925 in Grady County, he was a son of the late John Byron and Ruth Hancock Brock. He was self-employed and a member of Church of God of Prophecy. Survivors include his wife, Sarah T. Brock of Cairo, whom he married on April 4, 1958; sons and daughters-in-law, John Byron and Diane Brock, Charles Henry and Donna Brock, Roy William and Sally C. Brock all of Cairo; daughters and son-in-law, Sara Frances Bragg of Cairo, Rena Brock Carver and husband William Dave Carver of Cairo; a sister, Ruby Lee Kelley of Bainbridge; a brother, David Lamar Brock of Newton; a sister, Letha Bell Golden of Thomasville; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Services for Lequita Oakes Cox, 49, Cairo, are at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 8, 2003 at Clark Funeral Home Chapel in Cairo. The Rev. Mike Nichols will officiate and interment is in Union Hill Cemetery in Grady County. Active pallbearers are Trey Burgess, Robert Pearson, Mike Anderson, Sean Anderson, Ronald Sellers, James Cox and Celestino Candaleria. Mrs. Cox died Thursday, Feb. 6 at Grady General Hospital. Born Sept. 2, 1953 in Grady County, she was a daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Gladys Hurst Oakes. She was a seamstress. Survivors include daughters, Teresa L. Chason, Christy F. Chason both of Cairo; a son, Trampus E. Chason Sr. of Cairo; a sister, Linda Edenfield of Whigham; a brother, Leon Anderson of Cairo; and a grandchild, Trampus E. Evelyn Kennedy Harvey

Services for Evelyn Kennedy Harvey, 86, Melbourne, Fla., are at 11 a.m., Monday, Feb. 10, 2003 at A.M. Seigler Funeral Home in Mulberry, Fla. and interment is in Oak Hill Cemetery in Lakeland, Fla. Mrs. Harvey died Feb. 7 at Carnegie Gardens Nursing Center. Born April 3, 1916 in Reidsville, Ga., she was married to the late Raymond L. Harvey. She lived in Melbourne and Mulberry, Fla. prior to moving from Thomasville. She was a seamstress/upholsterer for W.S. Badcock Corp., member of Fredonia Baptist Church in Thomasville and Rose City Travel Club. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Gail and Raymond Reed of Palm Bay, Fla.; sons and daughters-in-law, William R. and Geraldine Harvey of Thomasville, Kenneth D. and Connie Harvey of Cairo; a son, John L. Walter Stephen Jordan Jr.

Services for Walter Stephen Jordan Jr., 50, Jackson, are at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 9, 2003 at Sherrell Memorial Chapel. The Rev. David McKee and Howard English will officiate and interment is in Towaliga Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Jordan died Thursday, Feb. 6 at his residence. Born Nov. 8, 1952 in Ybor City, Fla., he was a son of Walter Jordan Sr., who survives, of Ochlocknee and the late Ola Mae Vick Jordan. He was a computer operator, U.S. Army veteran and a member of Highland Methodist Church in Griffin. Survivors include his wife, Susan Marks Jordan of Jackson; sons, Eric and Renee Burdett of Barnesville, David and Sharon Jordan of Jackson, Bart Jordan of Jackson; sisters, Linda Fiddie of Ochlocknee, Donna Jordan of Stockbridge; brothers, Wayne and Robin Jordan of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Aime, Conner, Kayla, Austin and Dixie; and mother-in-law, Margurette Marks of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his mother, Ola Mae Vick Jordan; and a sister, Marcia Jordan. Services for Lillie Carmel Hurst Smith, Boston, are at 3 p.

Active pallbearers are grandsons, Jimmy Smith, Alan Smith, Randy Ryan, Billy Wayne Smith, Danny Smith, Dicky Cochran, Micky Cochran, Donnie Smith, Lee Smith, Kevin Smith and Chuck Smith. Mrs. Smith died Friday, Feb. 7 at Camellia Gardens of Life Care in Thomasville. Born Oct. 13, 1902 in Grady County, she was a daughter of the late James Benjamin Hurst and Lilla Magdalene Carden. On Aug. 11, 1926 in Monticello, Fla., she was married to James Lewis Smith who preceded her in death on April 28, 1980. She was a retired seamstress at Warners. Survivors include sons, Charles A. Smith, James H. Smith Sr. both of Boston, William F. Smith of Pink Hill, S.C., Thomas Laverne Smith of Boston; daughters, Ruth Smith Ryan of Boston, Melba Smith Cochran of Boston; 24 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
