THOMASVILLE– In effort to match job seekers with local employers, Job Fair 2001 is coming to Thomasville.

Sponsored by the Georgia Department of Labor Thomasville and Cairo Career Centers, Southwest Georgia Technical College, Thomasville-Thomas County Chamber of Commerce and the Thomasville Times-Enterprise, the second annual fair is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 24, at Southwest Georgia Technical College.

“The purpose is to give job seekers the opportunity to meet and talk to employers and fill out applications for employment,” said Mae Hatcher, employer marketing representative with the Georgia Department of Labor Thomasville Career Center. “Basically, right now we are trying to recruit more employers to participate. There are new businesses in town that people may not know about. This gives the potential employer a chance to meet applicants, and the applicants can learn what kind of work is available.”
