THOMASVILLE — While Georgia and Florida are abuzz with confirmed cases of West Nile virus, the Thomas County Health Department points out that it is just a close relative of other illnesses already common here.
They also point out it is rarely a killer in humans, but do suggest that dead birds be reported.
On Monday, the Center for Disease Control confirmed that a dead bird infected with the West Nile Virus was found in Lowndes County.
