THOMASVILLE — Although forced to play three games Saturday because of rain early in the tournament, the Berrien Rebels managed to win all three and take home the third annual Thomasville Firecracker Invitational Baseball Tournament championship.
The Rebels reached the title game with defending champs North Florida Christian after defeating Westover and Thomasville Saturday afternoon.
NFC took a 4-2 lead into the fifth inning of the contest, but Berrien managed to mount a comeback in their half of the inning. The Rebels tied the game and had runners at first and third when an odd turn of events gave them the lead.
