The Thomas County Public Library is continuing its celebration of the men and women who participated in World War II. A DVD , Rosie: Stories from the Home Front, produced by Brian Armstrong of Georgia Highlands College will be shown from 5 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, March 12in the Flipper Room of the library. This production contains interviews from several “Rosies” including Caroline “Mitzi” Sipp who now resides in Thomasville
The war was not just felt in the European or Japanese arenas, but everyone participated on US soil. While men were overseas, the women left behind were able to pick up the pieces and help with the war effort. By earning the respect and admiration of the citizens, these brave women began filling in at the factories to work in the assembly lines, helping wherever they were needed.
Several WWII mementos will be on display. After the screenings, guest can look and reminisce about those times. Come early and bring a camera for a picture with our own “Rosie”.
Refreshments will be served. If there are questions, please contact the library at 225-5252.
