THOMASVILLE —
The Georgia Baptist Mobile Health Unit visited Thomasville earlier this month. The unit is a full-time ministry of the Georgia Baptist Convention and travels all over the state providing dental care, vision screening and general health services to adults who are normally unable to obtain this care.
“We are providing this ministry as part of the Thomas County Nursing Fellowship, along with the Woman Missionary Union and Men’s Ministry,” said Nancy Smith, director of the Thomas County Baptist Nursing Fellowship. “For the past several years we as a community have seen a greater need for these services. Our goal is to reach the physical needs first in order to meet and assist with spiritual and emotional needs,” she continued.
The Mobile Health Unit was set up at Dawson Street Baptist Church.
