The Thomas County District 11 state Senate candidate’s plan for victory in a February runoff is no different than his campaign efforts to date.
“Our plan has not changed,” said Mike Keown, a Coolidge Republican. “We have a grass-roots organization.”
Keown received 37.37 percent of the Tuesday vote to 42.59 percent for Republican Dean Burke, a Bainbridge resident.
The runoff is Tuesday, Feb. 5.
Thomas County had three candidates in the race — Keown, Marshall Berman and Eugene McNease. Other candidates were Jeffrey Bivins, a Grady County Libertarian, and Brad Hughes, an Early County Republican.
District vote totals are:
• Berman — 132
• Bivins — 803
• Burke — 5,283
• Hughes — 969
• Keown — 4,635
• McNease — 582
