THOMASVILLE —
Three juveniles, including a 12-year-old, are charged in the Wednesday robbery of a 90-year-old clerk at an Ochlocknee business.
About 2:10 p.m. Wednesday at 1015 N. Main St., two males entered the grocery store, pushed the clerk down and took money from the cash register.
Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agents, armed with a description of suspects, spread over the town.
“Within an hour, three juvenile suspects were in custody and charged with the crime,” said Capt. Steven Jones, sheriff’s office public information officer.
Some of the money taken was recovered.
The juveniles — ages 16, 15 and 12 — were detained at the sheriff’s office.
The two younger juveniles were released to a guardian. The 16-year-old is being detained at the Loftiss Regional Youth Detention Center.
Jones said a similar incident occurred at the business two weeks ago.
