THOMASVILLE —
Two Panama City, Fla., men traveling through Thomas County were in possession of fake marijuana and real methamphetamine, according to the narcotics/vice chief.
A Thomas County Sheriff’s Office deputy patrolling on U.S. 319 South saw a green Toyota Avalon fail to maintain a traffic lane and stopped the car.
A Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division agent responded and found synthetic marijuana and multiple bags of methamphetamine under driver and passenger seats.
“They also found drug paraphernalia that was used to ingest the methamphetamine,” said Kevin Lee, narcotics/vice commander.
More methamphetamine was found in the console and the back seat area, along with Xanax pills.
The driver, Marcus Walter Harper, 25, 2524A Beech St., and Allen Simpson, 21, 138 Blackshear Drive, both of Panama City, are charged with Alprazolam possession with intent to distribute, misdemeanor marijuana possession, methamphetamine possession with intent to distribute, possession of drug-related object and open container.
