Thomasville police investigating burglaries

THOMASVILLE — Breaking and entering dwellings continues in Thomasville as several residential and commercial burglaries are being investigated by the Thomasville Police Department.

Residences have broken into during the day and at night. Police officials said three residential burglaries occurred in the early morning hours while the residents were at home asleep. The other burglaries occurred during the daytime and at night after the residents left for work. Thieves are gaining access through open doors and windows. Among the items taken include laptops, flatscreen televisions and video cameras. Businesses are reporting missing  items such as computers and money, officials said in a press release.

The areas of Smith Avenue, Bibb Lane, Cross, Bibb, South, Mulberry, Church and Mitchell streets have been the target of the thieves. Anyone with information about these crimes, may call Crime Stoppers at 227-3305 or the Criminal Investigations division at 227-3302. All information received is confidential.

Police officials urge citizens to be alert, get a good description of the suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhood and call city police to report the activity.
