THOMASVILLE —
A Thomas County Superior Court jury deliberated a little more than an hour Thursday before convicting Xavier Rashard Jones of felony murder in the 2010 shooting death of a teenage boy.
Jones, 19, who testified Thursday, also was found guilty of armed robbery, aggravated assault and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
He is to be sentenced at 11 a.m. Monday by Judge James E. “Jim” Hardy at the Jail-Justice Center courtroom.
Jones was charged with murder and armed robbery in the July 2010 death of a 15-year-old Florida boy visiting his father here.
The victim, Christopher Crumbry Jr., was shot in the head in the 800 block of Fletcher Street about 11:20 p.m. in late July 2010.
