THOMASVILLE —
Topping its own number of 20 AP scholars over last year, 34 students from Thomasville City Scholars Academy have earned AP Scholar Awards at several levels of achievement in recognition of their exceptional achievement on the College Board’s Advanced Placement exams.
One of those 34, Class of 2012 graduate Shradha Patel, has been named National AP Scholar, which is granted to students in the United States who received an average score of at least 4 or higher on all AP Exams taken, and scores of 4 or higher on 8 or more of these exams.
Patel attributes her acceptance to the United States Naval Academy, in part, to the Advanced Placement opportunities she was afforded as a Scholars Academy high school student.
Class of 2012 graduates Sarah Allen, Emily Bateman, Shamara Battle, Shradha Patel and Josh Willis and current senior Rebekah Hunnewell qualify for the AP Scholar with Distinction Award by earning an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on five or more of these exams.
Madison Miller, Caitlyn Stroh and Allison Thriffiley, class of 2012 graduates; Elin Hahn, Hannah Pell and Rosalie White, current seniors; and Felix Edwards, current junior, qualify for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by earning an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and scores of 3 or higher on four or more of these exams.
