THOMASVILLE —
The masked man who burglarized a convenience store near Ochlocknee was determined.
The suspect — a white male — was determined to get into the store and to take control of the automated teller machine (ATM) inside, which was emptied of its cash.
Entry to the store was gained though a rear concrete wall after attempts were made to shut off electrical power to the business at U.S. 19 North and Ga. 188 a little before 1 a.m. Monday.
Thomas County Sheriff’s Office investigators believe the suspect was trying to cut off power to the store alarm and to disable security video.
The alarm was either disarmed, or it was not turned off when the store closed Sunday night, said Capt. Steven Jones, sheriff’s office public information officer.
