THOMASVILLE —
A employee at a Thomasville business was arrested on the job Wednesday and charged with felony theft by taking.
Thomasville police responded to Lowe’s, 13911 U.S. 19 South, early Wednesday afternoon in reference to internal theft by an employee.
Store representatives told officers a cashier had been caught making fraudulent transactions that totaled “a very large amount of money,” said Lt. Eric Hampton, Thomasville Police Department public information officer.
The alleged transactions took place between Dec. 1 and Dec. 28.
The suspect, Amanda McDaniels, 34, 258 Wade Chastain Road, was arrested at the store shortly after police arrived.
“All these incidents were captured on video surveillance,” Hampton said.
