THOMASVILLE —
A Thomas County woman was charged with obstruction Wednesday after a confrontation with Internal Revenue Service agents.
The IRS contacted the Thomas County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning and asked about Virginia Tuggle Deese, 50, 960 St. Paul Road, said Lt. Tim Watkins, sheriff’s office chief investigator.
Some Thomas County property that was seized by the IRS is to be auctioned, Watkins added.
“She (Deese) had called one of the offices in D.C. and threatened to shoot an IRS agent. Then she called the auction company and threatened to shoot the auctioneer,” Watkins said.
The IRS secured a warrant for Deese’s arrest and executed the warrant Wednesday.
