THOMASVILLE —
City police were looking for someone wanted on a warrant when an informant alerted officers to someone hiding in shrubbery.
Police went to Villa North, 555 Cassidy Road, to look for a wanted person, buy they did not find the individual.
While at the housing project, an officer received a phone call from an individual who said someone was hiding in nearby bushes. The officer who was called had given the phone number to a potential informant.
Police found Antonio Clark, 41, 129 Cannon St., in Villa North shrubbery. The suspect had marijuana and scales on his person, said Kevin Lee, Thomas County/Thomasville Narcotics/Vice Division commander.
Also found on Clark’s person was between $1,400 and $1,500 in U.S. currency.
“They also found two large bags of marijuana hanging in the bushes beside Clark,” Lee said.
The suspect, who is charged with marijuana possession with intent to distribute, was denied bond and is being held in the Thomas County Jail.
The case is not Clark’s first involving a felony amount of marijuana.
