THOMASVILLE —
Thomas County features a lot of compassionate people. There are multiple organizations whose missions are to help change the lives of those that need it.
Devin Tudor, a local firefighter, has taken what he has learned from living in Thomas County and is ready to change the world.
Born in Thomasville, Tudor, 23, was on his own at 15. After graduating from Moultrie Technical College, Tudor became an EMT.
Tudor will be leaving everything he has ever known in January to join The World Race, a mission trip through 11 countries in 11 months.
“The World Race comes down to one mission,” Tudor said. “That mission is learning how to love. It’s about coming out of what you’re into and coming into what God has for you.”
After spending time in the Philippines and Honduras, Tudor got to see what mission work was like in other countries.
“I never really wanted to do missions or anything like it,” Tudor said. “I’ve always been a Christian. I grew up at the New Covenant Church of Thomasville and served under the youth pastor for two years. I loved doing that, but then I transitioned into being a firefighter. At that point, I thought being a firefighter was what I was going to be doing for the rest of my life.”
