THOMASVILLE —
The Thomasville Rotary Club is at it again. This time it is looking to enrich the lives of four young professionals from southwest Georgia, as well as the metro Atlanta area.
Each year, the Rotary Clubs of Georgia sponsor an international exchange program. Four non-Rotarians will get the opportunity to spend four weeks in Taichung, the second largest city in Taiwan, during March 2013.
The exchange is keying on one of Rotary International’s six Areas of Focus: Basic Education and Literacy.
“The Rotary Club has a long history of doing group exchanges. It’s a cultural exchange designed to promote peace and understanding among people,” said Carol Jones, president of the Thomasville Rotary Club. “They will get to spend time in Rotarian host homes. They will get to see the tourist places, but they will also get an inside look at how the Taiwanese people live and have the chance to learn about their culture.”
