Thomasville police investigating shooting on Fletcher Street

THOMASVILLE — A 35-year-old man is in guarded condition at Archbold Memorial Hospital after suffering a gunshot wound.

At 2:15 a.m. Wednesday, a Thomasville Police Department officer was dispatched to the 700 block of Fletcher Street because of a fight in progress. While en route, the officer received a report of a possible gunshot.

Upon the officer’s arrival at the scene, he did not find a gunshot victim or potential witnesses. However, he received a report that Jamal Hayes, 213 Wall St., was at the hospital receiving treatment for a gunshot wound.

Hayes had been transported to the hospital in a private vehicle.

No one has been charged in the shooting. Officers are investigating the incident
