THOMASVILLE —
A 30-year-old man with addresses in several counties is charged in the March armed robbery of a pizza deliveryman.
Dontavious Vontrrell Dennis was transported to the Thomas County Jail from the Pelham jail during predawn hours Tuesday. He was to be questioned Tuesday by Thomas County Sheriff’s Office investigators.
Pelham police arrested Dennis on an armed robbery warrant issued by the sheriff’s office.
“It was his cell phone that was used to call the pizza deliveryman,” said Lt. Tim Watkins, chief investigator.
Watkins said Dennis’ cell phone was used to place the food order.
When the pizza delivery man arrived at a bogus address for the delivery site at Best for Guest mobile home park, he called the customer’s cell phone for directions.
Dennis lists 14359 U.S. 319, Lot 7, Thomasville, as his address. Watkins said the suspect also has addresses in Tift and Cook counties.
“He is on probation,” Watkins said. “He does have a record.”
Other suspects in the robbery remain at large.
