THOMASVILLE —
Even one dollar can make a difference.
On Friday night, guests will have the opportunity to donate to “Dollars for Dignity,” a benefit concert for local cancer patients.
“We do an annual event of some sort,” Dr. Steve Johnson, director of Radiation Oncology at Lewis Hall Singletary Oncology Center said. “We’ve done golf tournaments and car washes in the past.”
This year, Ian Altman, a native of Thomasville, will return to show his expertise on the piano.
Altman, an associate professor at Mercer University, began playing the piano when he was 8 years old. His talent has been nationally recognized.
The proceeds from “Dollars for Dignity” are donated to local cancer patients to help them defray travel costs.
See Thursday's edition for more details.
