CAIRO —
Dr. Tommy Pharis is nearing the finish line of his Grady County Schools career. The superintendent will retire at the end of his current contract on July 1. He is a 36-year veteran of public education.
During his career, Pharis served as a classroom teacher at Washington Middle School (WMS), assistant principal of WMS and principal of Shiver and Eastside elementary school.
Pharis is planning to find a job teaching at the college leval at one of the area schools.
