The Thomasville Police Department has arrested and charged Marcus Flem Williams, 30, 920 Lester St., in the shooting of Jamal Hayes.
The two were involved in a physical altercation at about 2 a.m. on Wednesday in the 700 block of Fletcher Street when Williams alledgedly fired a shot, striking Hayes in the abdomen.
Hayes is currently at Archbold Memorial Hospital where he is said to be in guarded condition.
Williams has been charged with reckless conduct pending further investigation and is being held in The Thomas County Jail pending arraignment.
