BOSTON —
When the 21st season of “The Amazing Race” started filming in May, two of southwest Georgia’s own were on board for the challenge. Rob French and his wife, Kelley Carrington-French, have been filling television screens every Sunday night for the past four weeks. This Sunday will mark the fifth episode, and the Frenches have yet to be eliminated.
“The Amazing Race” is a reality show on CBS. The competition features 11 two-person teams. The duos race against each other around the world as they complete both mental and physical challenges. The teams go to the next location after completing tasks. Teams get eliminated by being the farthest behind. The first team to reach the final destination wins $1 million.
So how did two newlyweds from Boston gain their spot on an eight-time Emmy-award winning show?
Last year, “The Amazing Race” asked Rob and Kelley to be on the show after recognizing them from their monster truck careers.
