TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
Christopher Knapp, a Grady County, Ga., fugitive, was apprehended Thursday by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Knapp, 34, was wanted on fugitive warrants in connection with an incident that occurred last month in Georgia.
The suspect was contacted by law enforcement after he burglarized a business and stole a vehicle, according to a Leon County Sheriff’s Office spokesman.
Knapp fled in the vehicle, leading to a vehicle pursuit with law enforcement. During the pursuit, he stopped the stolen vehicle, placed it in reverse and attempted to run over the law enforcement officer, striking the patrol car. Knapp then fled on foot.
Information was obtained showing Knapp was possibly in the Woodville area.
Information from concerned citizens led deputies and U.S. marshals to the 8500 block of Kimbo Road, where Knapp was located hiding in a shed.
The suspect was taken into custody and transported to the Leon County Jail.
