DAWSONVILLE (AP) — Authorities in Dawsonville say an 11-year-old boy died after a gun accidentally discharged while he was hunting with his grandfather.
Dawson County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Johnny Holtzclaw said the shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Friday at the Dawson Forest Wildlife Management Area.
Holtzclaw said the boy died of injuries from a single gunshot wound late Friday at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Scottish Rite.
Dawson County authorities did not immediately release the names of the boy or his grandfather.
