TU athletes honored

THOMASVILLE — Three Thomas University women soccer players and two men soccer players were named  to the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar Athlete list.

Senior Reem Moussa was recognized for the second time after her 2011 selection. Juniors Carina Spengler and Hjalmdis Vihjalmsdottir both received their first nod.

A total of 492 women’s soccer players were recognized.

TU’s two men’s representatives were senior captain Nathan Would and junior captain Andi Hoffer. Would was also chosen in 2011.

A total of 315 men’s soccer players were honored.

Nominated by each insitution’s head coach, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and have achieved junior academic status to qualify.
