Wrestling isn’t just for boys. The sport grabbed a Cairo woman six years ago.
Rose Coleman, mother of four-time region wrestling champion Paul Coleman, spends three hours preparing for wrestling matches.
“I set up for all the tournaments,” Coleman said. “I make sure that the parents are involved with the concessions and I ensure that there is day-to-day communication with the parents and the boys. I also set up a hospitality room for the coaches.”
Coleman even puts her cooking skills to use.
“I’ve made chili and cookies to put in the hospitality room,” Coleman said.
Coleman serves as coach Kevin Elliott’s top helper.
