Wilcox to play in Senior Bowl

STATESBORO — Georgia Southern’s J.J. Wilcox will continue his quest for the NFL at today’s Senior Bowl. The game is set for 4 p.m. on the NFL Network.

The former Cairo High standout will wear his usual No. 19 for the South team in today's game.

Wilcox capped off his first season in the defensive secondary with First Team All-Southern Conference honors. Wilcox started in 13 of the Eagles' 14 games and was second on the team with 88 tackles and seven pass break-ups.

The Senior Bowl is the nation’s most unique football game and football’s premier pre-draft event, annually featuring the country’s best senior collegiate football stars and top NFL draft prospects on teams representing the North and South. Senior Bowl practices are also attended by more than 800 general managers, head coaches, assistant coaches, scouts and other front office personnel from National Football League.
