THOMASVILLE —
This is arguably the biggest weekend of the regular season for area football teams. First place is on the line when Northside-Warner Robins visits Thomas County Central for the first time.
Northside-Warner
Robins 35, Central 20
THS at Fitzgerald
Thomasville’s dreams of a Region 1-AA title rest on tonight’s visit to Fitzgerald. A loss and the Bulldogs are forced to rethink their seeding for the postseason.
Fitzgerald 24,
Thomasville 17
Brookwood at Valwood
The most entertaining game of the night may be in Valdosta. Both teams can score at will. The first one to 60 wins. Don’t laugh. It’s very likely to happen.
Brookwood 51,
Valwood 45
Worth County at Cairo
Cairo is back to rolling in Region 1-AAA. Worth County will provide little resistance to the Syrupmakers’ quest for a 3-0 start in region play. The Rams, alternating wins and losses, are due for a win, though. Not tonight.
Cairo 31,
Worth County 7
