MILLEDGEVILLE —
Playing against five-time reigning state champion Wesleyan, Thomasville was looking for a strong start Friday in the Class AA girls semifinal game.
Instead, the Bulldogs quickly dug themselves a hole at Georgia College and State University's Centennial Center and were unable to dig their way out as they fell 83-34 to the Wolves. Wesleyan, which won the past four Class A state titles, moves on to face Laney at the Macon Centreplex on Friday for the championship.
“We had too many turnovers, and I think the bright lights and the big stage got to us a little bit,” Thomasville coach Thomas McAboy said. “We had too many turnovers and they got off to a fast start.”
