The Thomas University Lady Night (2-0) swept an opening day doubleheader, 6-4 and 4-3, against the College of Coastal Georgia (0-2) on Saturday afternoon in Brunswick.
Junior pitcher Alexa Fair (1-0) picked up the win on the mound in game one while going 2-4 with double. Junior infielder Amber Steadman had two hits and two RBI, including a two-run home run. Senior outfielder Kortney Campbell also contributed two hits and an RBI.
In game two, Thomas had to come from behind, tying the game with a home run by junior infielder Dionne Bishop. Steadman made it back-to-back home runs to give TU the lead. Junior pitcher Summer Rose (1-0) notched her first win as a Lady Night Hawk.
TU will conclude its road trip today in Savannah when it faces Morgan State University at 10 a.m. and Savannah State University at 2 p.m.
