THOMASVILLE —
With a successful debt season under its belt, Upward Sports, the world’s largest Christian sports league, has announced the beginning of another opportunity for the Thomasville community. Upward Sports has selected the gymnasium and the facilities at New Covenant Church on Hwy 19 at 48 Patterson Still Spur E. for its 2013 season.
Registrations and evaluations will be held at the Armstrong Outreach Center at New Covenant Church on Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
More than 600,000 children nationwide were associated with Upward Sports last year. It teaches sport fundamentals in an environment of healthy competition, helping kids to develop skills for the sports arena and values for life.
All children will be evaluated by skill level and the teams will be drafted equally to promote fair and the most competitive experience. Upward Sports has systems in place that guarantees that all children will receive equal playing time, which ultimately encourages every child and parent.
The leagues will include basketball and cheerleading for children (leagues for boys and girls) from the age of kindergarten to 8th grade.
With weekly practices and games limited to one-hour each, theleague is family friendly and fun for everyone!
