CAIRO —
The Cairo Syrupmakers wrestling team hosted the Region 1-AAAA team dual championships Friday. The Syrupmakers wrestled the Dougherty Trojans in one semifinal match and won 60-18. In the finals match against Crisp County, the Syrupmakers won 42-30.
Team members that won the 2013 Team Dual Championship are: Harley Ponder, Ryan Roberson, Mateo Francisco, Wilder Elliott, Will Alexander, Luke Elkins, Reggie Burden, Connor Ezell, Darby Nichols, Brent Burdick, James Monk, Paul Coleman, Marcus Gaines, Joseph McFatter, Jackson Lewis, Maurice Gaines and Brantavius Vicks. The Syrupmakers will leave for the State Dual Championships this weekend in Macon.
