THOMASVILLE —
In 2011, P.J. Davis was the area's top defender.
This past season, the Cairo senior was simply the best.
Davis scored 19 touchdowns on offense, two on defense, tallied 106 tackles and led the Syrupmakers to the Region 1-AAAA championship.
For his efforts, Davis was named the Times-Enterprise Player of the Year.
“Plain and simple to us, P.J.'s the best player on the field,” Cairo coach Tom Fallaw said. “I think the stats show that. I think if you come to a game and you watch him, you'll see it pretty quick.”
