THOMASVILLE —
On your mark, get set, go.
For the 35th year, runners will hear those words as the Rose City Run starts today at 8 a.m.
Runners from Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Virginia, Texas and Illinois, representing 46 towns and cities have pre-registered for the race, which starts on Broad Street in front of post office.
Registration will be held from 6:30 a.m.-7:30 a.m. today. There is no race-day registration for the One Mile Run, which will be held at 9:30 a.m. following the Rose City Run.
Race co-director Dr. Jim Story will give runners instructions at 7:45 a.m. At 7:55 a.m., the national anthem will be sung, along with a prayer.
Following both races, the awards presentation will be held at the gazebo in the Big Oak Park.
