TU baseball eliminated in conference tourney

SAN MARCOS, Calif. — Thomas University’s season came to an end on Friday in the Association of Independent Institutions tournament.

Dakota State University knocked off the Night Hawks 8-6. TU finished with a 25-23 record.

TU had a 2-0 lead in the third inning before Dakota State exploded for four runs. Two more runs in the fourth gave Dakota State a 6-2 lead.

The Night Hawks rallied for three runs in the eighth inning to cut Dakota State’s lead to 8-6. But that was as close as TU got as the Night Hawks were retired 1-2-3 in the ninth inning.

TU finished with 12 hits but stranded nine base runners.
