The Region 1-AAAA tournament kicked off Tuesday with the No. 3 Thomas County Central girls defeating No. 6 Harris County 45-41.
The Lady Yellow Jackets finished the first quarter with an 11-4 lead.
The Lady Tigers came back in the last 15 seconds of the second quarter to make it a one-point game, but Chelsea McIntyre gave the Lady Yellow Jackets a 19-18 lead with a buzzer-beating putback.
