CAIRO — Four Cairo Syrupmakers signed letters-of-intent on Wednesday, National Signing Day, two were with FCS schools. Quarterback Steven Bench signed with Penn State while safety T.J. Gurley inked with South Carolina. Other players that signed include linebacker Terrell Cason with Holmes Community College and offensive lineman Anthony Mosely with Southern University.
Thomas County Central will have its signing ceremony at 11:30 a.m. Thomasville's will be at 2 p.m.

Youth and inexperience in the GISA playoffs came back to haunt the Brookwood Warriors on Monday.
With a chance to play for the Class AA championship on the line, the Warriors allowed three unearned runs in the first inning and left the bases loaded in the fourth, leading to Windsor Academy defeating Brookwood 5-3.
