Rant & Rave Feb. 9

“The cartoons the Times-Enterprise uses on the editorial page are so silly and have no meaning behind them. Where do those stupid things come from? Your paper needs to get real. Our President is doing the best he can. I wonder what would happen if McClain and Sarah Tatum were President and Vice President. I guess you would be praising them.”

“Your rights to freedom of religion end where they infringe on my rights. Repeal the moronic blue laws against Sunday alcohol sales.”

“Notice there are mostly rants posted! I have tried twice to rave about a Good Samaritan, Kathy, in this town who made a very unselfish gesture in line at Walmart by insisting I take some money from her to go toward shipping a package to my son and daughter-in-law serving in Iraq. Is this not a worthy post? Well, I tend to think our soldiers are very worthy and if not for them, you could not freely post all of these ridiculous rants. I will apologize if my rave was printed. I never saw it.”

EDITOR’S NOTE: It was in Sunday’s edition.

“Usually, Susan Estrich's column is so liberal I can't get beyond the first paragraph. In Sunday's paper, I was able to read the whole article and I just about wholeheartedly agree with her."

“Try going down Lewis Lane and Andrew Circle in Grady County. The commissioners and administrators should be thrown out of office for this lack of attention to dirt roads."

“Wouldn't it be a good idea to broadcast city and county commission meetings? People that cannot make it could see how our elected officials are governing our community and county.”

“I am disgusted with all the personal backstabbing that takes place behind the anonymous shroud of the Rant and Rave. It is simply too easy to tear into someone with no accountability attached. The newspaper needs to make it policy that if an individual is targeted, then the name of the submitter must be attached or it will not be published. Being negative is one thing. Being downright personal is quite another. This would seem to be simple decency, which is what our community deserves and expects from our own children.”
